Vedic Astrology
Jyotish, also known as Vedic Astrology, is the study and illuminated understanding of celestial bodies; the planets, stars and horizons. Through Jyotish we are able to understand more about our lives and why we were born. Beginning with the birth chart, and studying additional Vargas charts, we are able to understand the journey of the soul and its purpose - dharma - in this lifetime. This can give context to life events as well as foster a greater understanding of one’s own path. Vedic Astrology differs from Western - or tropical - astrology in that it uses the sidereal zodiac, looking at the planets’ position against the constellations of stars. Availing oneself of this Vedic science can help us understand what we are here to do, what obstacles we may face, and what our inherent strengths (and weaknesses) may be as we navigate through our lives.
Zyrka has completed 600+ hours and continues her ongoing studies with RaeAnn Banker and Komilla Sutton, while also receiving instruction and support in Jyotish from her Sadhana Teachers. The study of Vedic Astrology, as with all Vedic Sciences, is a life-long pursuit.
